At the start there is the Alter Knabe house cut. It is brought to you, and everything else is chosen upon it. The measure stays in the house. The second garment is easier than the first.

The house cut stands. It is the foundation, not the question. In the boutique it is brought to you: figure, bearing, shoulder, length. No shape is forced. What carries steps forward. The rest stays quiet.

The cloth from the book, then the specification: lapel, lining, buttons, pockets, vents, waistband. As many decisions as you care to make. The house makes the rest.

I. Suits

Suits & Jackets

Two-piece, three-piece, dinner suits, separate jackets. For the three ways to be dressed.

  • Leisure & countryside. Tweed, corduroy, flannel. A jacket with room to move.
  • Business. Navy, mid-grey, charcoal. Herringbone, pinstripe, Prince of Wales, houndstooth.
  • Gala & occasions. Dinner suit with shawl collar or peak lapel, silk on the lapel, braid down the trouser, no belt loops.
  • Half or full canvas front
  • Natural, roped or unstructured shoulder
  • Lining, buttons and pockets to choice

II. Coats

Coats

The outermost garment, and the first one seen. It has to sit over the jacket, not beside it. Length and shoulder decide everything.

  • Chesterfield, polo coat and covert coat
  • Single or double breasted
  • Cashmere, loden, covert and tweed
  • Length to choice. Above the knee or below.
  • Worn over the suit. The measure allows for it.

Shirts

Made to measure, in cotton, wool and more. Among them Albini 1876 and Getzner.

  • A range of collar shapes
  • Barrel, double or button cuff

Shoes

Model, leather and finishing take shape in the configurator. Step by step on screen, together with the boutique. No leather swatches lie on the table for this.
